Since we decided to start with Linux, most of our work has happened out of sight. Here’s a short summary of the past week, and a new place to talk with us while we build.
Follow along by email
You can now subscribe to the developer’s newsletter or join the early access waitlist on this site. They are separate lists, and each sends a confirmation email when you sign up. Joining the waitlist is free, doesn’t create an account and doesn’t guarantee an invitation.
One desktop, a person and an assistant
We connected the PC and an experimental assistant to the same local Linux desktop. In local tests, a person could take control, make changes, and let the assistant continue from what it observed. We also checked that saved work remained after a restart. These are development experiments, not an available feature or a test of the finished cloud service. October progress has more on how we got here.
Preparing a small first test
Our first internal test will use a single personal PC. Before it starts, we’re preparing what it depends on: access, the ability to stop a PC, spending limits and recovery. That test hasn’t started yet, and early access is still closed.
Come talk with us on Discord
We’ve opened a Discord server for people who want to follow the build more closely. Tell us what you’d want from a personal Linux PC in the cloud in #feedback, ask questions in #support, and see announcements as they happen. What you share there helps us decide what to work on next.
It’s free to join. Joining doesn’t grant early access, and Discord isn’t the place for passwords or private details. For privacy requests, email us instead.
Where we are: preparing a small internal Linux PC test. Early access is closed; the newsletter, the waitlist and Discord are the ways to follow along.
